While the school has some genuine strengths, it consistently ranks below most of its immediate neighbors—sitting at the 40th percentile statewide in 2025–2026, with an average SOL proficiency of about 69%.

Gordon Elementary ranked at the 96th percentile, Woolridge Elementary at the 94th, and J.B. Watkins Elementary at the 93rd. For the most part we have had great teachers. The "office" (principals) part of the school has been less than desirable.........very difficult to speak to anyone. Our children have been in other schools and I can truly say this school does not compare! Close Quote
