East Ridge Elementary School is a PK–6 public school in Ogden, Utah, serving 714 students at 1330 9th Street and ranking among the larger elementary schools in its mostly urban, Ogden-area comparison group. It ranks 384th of 563 Utah elementary schools, placing it in the 32nd percentile with a 2-star rating. Although the Ogden City District ranks 81st of 92 statewide, East Ridge is one of the stronger nearby schools. It ranks just behind Polk School and well ahead of Liberty Elementary School, Lincoln School, Heritage School, New Bridge School, and Leadership Learning Academy - Ogden.

Academically, East Ridge performed above the district in 10 of 11 reported grade-subject areas in 2025–2026. Its average proficiency was about 41.0% in English Language Arts, 38.2% in mathematics, and 46.4% in science. Fourth- and fifth-grade mathematics were particular strengths, at 48.6% and 42.9%, respectively, while science exceeded the district in every tested grade. The clearest concern is sixth-grade mathematics: 23.6% of students were proficient, below both the district’s 25.3% and the state’s 37.4%. Compared with Polk, East Ridge had stronger average mathematics and science results, but Polk led in ELA, averaging 47.6% compared with East Ridge’s 41.0%.

Attendance has improved substantially. Chronic absenteeism fell from 63.2% in 2020–2021 to 28.3% in 2024–2025, below the district’s 40.0% and better than most nearby schools, though still above Utah’s 23.8%. About 44.54% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch, a rate lower than at several nearby schools, including Liberty, Heritage, New Bridge, and Lincoln. East Ridge’s student-teacher ratio was 21.0, typical for the comparison group. Overall, the school appears to be a local bright spot: it outperforms its district and most nearby schools, while still having room to improve statewide results, sixth-grade math, ELA, and attendance.
