Leadership Learning Academy

Leadership Learning Academy includes two K–6 elementary schools in the Layton and Ogden areas of Utah, serving 907 students within the Leadership Learning Academy district. The two campuses have notably different results. Leadership Learning Academy in Layton enrolls 522 students and ranks in the 37th statewide percentile, while Leadership Learning Academy - Ogden enrolls 385 students and ranks in the 4th percentile. The district overall ranks near the bottom of Utah districts, so families may want to consider both school-specific results and the support available at each campus.

Layton is the stronger-performing school on the available measures and has improved its statewide ranking over the past three years. Its 2025–26 proficiency averages were about 40% in English language arts and math and 53% in science, exceeding district averages in all three subjects. Sixth grade was especially strong, with 49% proficiency in English, 47% in math, and 71% in science. Layton’s chronic absenteeism rate was 28.6%, lower than the district’s 36.4%, although still above the state rate. Ogden faces more substantial challenges. It trails both the district and state in every reported subject, with approximately 24% proficiency in English and science and less than 10% in math overall. Math is the clearest concern: every reported grade was at or below 11.6% proficiency. Chronic absenteeism reached 46.7%, meaning attendance may be an important barrier to consistent learning. The school has a slightly lower student–teacher ratio than Layton and historically reported higher per-student spending, but those advantages have not yet produced stronger outcomes. Families comparing the campuses may wish to ask about attendance support, math intervention, tutoring, progress monitoring, and how Layton’s stronger instructional practices are being shared across the network.
