Juab High

Juab High is a public high school in Nephi, Utah, serving grades 9–12 and approximately 897 students. Located in a smaller Juab County community, it is the only school listed within 20 miles, so comparisons with the Juab District and Utah statewide averages are more useful than comparisons with neighboring schools. The school’s latest statewide ranking was 67th out of 139 schools, placing it around the 52nd percentile.

One of the school’s clearest strengths is graduation: 98.0% of students graduated in 2024–25, compared with 89.8% statewide. Rates stayed between 95.9% and 98.0% over the five reported years, showing consistent results. Academic performance also improved sharply in 2025–26. Most notably, 41.1% of 10th-graders were proficient in mathematics, compared with 29.4% statewide. Ninth-grade math and 10th-grade science also exceeded state averages. Ninth-grade English language arts remains the biggest academic concern: 33.2% were proficient, compared with 45.4% statewide, despite improvement from the prior year.

Attendance is better than Utah overall but still an area to watch. Chronic absenteeism fell from 22.8% to 17.1% in one year, compared with 23.8% statewide, but the school remained above the district’s 14.5% rate. The latest statewide ranking also represents a major recovery from the 13th percentile in 2023–24. Students from low-income backgrounds had an especially strong latest effectiveness result, ranking 5th out of 97 schools statewide. Overall, the school combines excellent graduation outcomes with a substantial academic rebound, while its next priorities are sustaining the gains, strengthening ninth-grade literacy, and reducing absenteeism.
