Summary:

Nephi, Utah, has four public schools serving students from prekindergarten through grade 12, with 2,478 students across elementary, junior high, and high school campuses in the Juab District, which ranks around the 59th percentile among Utah districts.

Nebo View School is the strongest current academic performer, ranking around the 67th percentile statewide and averaging about 50% proficiency across its reported elementary assessments. It is particularly strong in grade 3 mathematics and grade 5 science, although its ranking has declined from three years ago and grade 5 results are more uneven. Juab High has the most encouraging improvement trend, rising from about the 13th to the 52nd percentile over three years. Its 98% graduation rate is well above Utah’s 89.8%, and mathematics performance is stronger than its ELA results. Red Cliff School ranks near the middle of the group, with relatively strong grade 4 mathematics but weaker grade 5 ELA. Juab Junior High remains the lowest-ranked school, though it has improved substantially; grade 6 mathematics and grades 7–8 science are key academic weaknesses.

Attendance is the most important area-wide concern. Chronic absenteeism exceeds the district average at every school: 33% at Red Cliff, 25.6% at Nebo View, 24.8% at Juab Junior High, and 17.1% at Juab High, compared with 14.5% districtwide. Red Cliff therefore appears to be the highest-priority setting for attendance support, while Nebo View is achieving the strongest elementary results despite elevated absenteeism. Families comparing schools should also note that Juab High is the largest campus and has the highest student-teacher ratio, while the elementary schools have smaller ratios. Overall, the area combines strong graduation outcomes and improving secondary-school rankings with a need for better attendance, middle-school science and mathematics support, and continued attention to elementary performance in the upper grades.
