Foothills School

Foothills School is a large K–6 elementary school in Riverton, Utah, serving 837 students in the Jordan District near several other district schools, including Blackridge School, Ridge View Elementary, Silver Crest School, and Herriman School. The school ranks 314th of 563 Utah elementary schools, placing it in the 44th percentile with two stars. Its recent ranking has been fairly steady in the low-to-mid-40th percentile range, but it was stronger several years ago, when it ranked between the 56th and 62nd percentiles.

Staffing is a relative advantage: Foothills’ student-teacher ratio was 18.1 in 2024–2025, the lowest among the nearby schools with reported data. Attendance is a larger concern, with chronic absenteeism at 26.2%, above the district’s 21.9% and the state’s 23.8%. That rate is higher than at Rose Creek School, Blackridge School, and Herriman School, though lower than at Bastian School and Silver Crest School. Overall, Foothills appears to have a solid foundation, especially in science and staffing, while improved attendance and targeted support in early literacy and selected math grades could help raise its broader performance.
