Summary

East School is a PK–5 elementary school in Roosevelt, Utah, serving about 450 students in the Duchesne District, a rural district that ranks 67th of 92 Utah districts statewide. The school is relatively large compared with nearby Myton School and Neola School, but similar in size to Kings Peak School and Centennial School. East’s latest ranking is in the 21st percentile of Utah schools, an improvement from the 5th percentile in 2021–22 and 2022–23, although it remains below the state midpoint.

The most important academic pattern is that performance is weakest in third and fourth grade and improves by fifth grade. In 2025–26, proficiency was 16% in both third-grade English language arts and math, while fifth-grade results rose to 37.3% in ELA and 40.7% in math.
