Summary

Itineris Early College High is a small public high school in West Jordan serving grades 9–12, with 366 students and an early-college focus. For 2025–2026, it ranked 24th out of 139 Utah schools, placing it in the 83rd percentile and earning four stars. That makes it one of the strongest-ranked schools in the area, behind only Bingham High among the nearby schools listed. Itineris is also much smaller than Copper Hills High, Bingham High, and West Jordan High, offering a more specialized setting.

Academically, Itineris exceeded Utah averages in every reported 2025–2026 Aspire Plus subject and grade. Ninth grade was especially strong: 61.3% of students were proficient in English language arts, 55.3% in math, and 66.7% in science. Tenth-grade results were still above state averages but showed smaller advantages, particularly in math, where proficiency was 32.6%. Compared with nearby schools, Itineris outperformed most alternatives, including Copper Hills High, West Jordan High, and Kings Peak High. Bingham High had stronger tenth-grade results in all three comparable subjects, while Mountain Heights Academy had higher tenth-grade ELA results but lower math and science results.

The main caution is student persistence. Itineris’ 2024–2025 graduation rate was 89.2%, close to Utah’s 89.8% but below Bingham High, and its dropout rate rose to 10.8%, above the state’s 8.5%. On the positive side, chronic absenteeism improved substantially to 15.2%, below the state rate of 23.8%. Families should also note the decline in tenth-grade math and the gap between strong ninth-grade outcomes and more modest tenth-grade performance. Overall, Itineris is a compelling small-school option with strong academics, but graduation, dropout prevention, and support for students as coursework becomes more demanding deserve close attention.

Open Quote I wish I could rate Itineris 5 stars, but they've gone downhill. I like the fact that I can take college classes. That is something that has already benefited me in my transition from high school to college. But many Itineris teachers are new and don't know what they're doing (they've fired like three in the past two years). The academics have seemingly been set aside to focus on recruitment and the students are subpar - disrespectful, messy, and loud. The younger grades constantly skip class, leave messes, and make so many disruptions that it is difficult for others to concentrate on learning. The school is pretty grimy now (since these younger students are running into walls with rolling chairs, standing on toilets until they break out of the wall, and hanging on bathroom stall doors until they shift and the locks no longer work...). It doesn't seem like there have been any measures taken to fix these problems, and unfortunately, there are also safety issues. Last year, a handful of kids were bringing pocket knives to school and openly displaying them. There was a stabbing that occurred between two students just down the street. No conversation about how bringing knives to school is wrong. No acknowledgment of the incident. Nothing. I'm not sure what my school cares about at this point. It's all numbers. No safety, no academics, no rules. It's a huge disappointment and I wish they would implement more preventative measures like hallway aides and stricter rules. Close Quote
