Cache District

Cache District serves about 20,218 students across 25 schools in northern Utah, including 17 elementary schools, three middle schools, and five high schools serving elementary through high-school grades. Overall, the district has a strong academic profile, with especially high-performing middle schools and several elementary schools ranking among the top 10%–15% statewide. The district’s four large traditional high schools also report graduation rates of 94.1% to 97.0%, well above Utah’s 89.8% state rate.

Among the strongest schools are Green Canyon High School, the district’s leading all-around high school, and North Cache Middle School, the highest-ranked middle school. Green Canyon combines a 95.8% graduation rate, the district’s lowest chronic absenteeism rate among large high schools at 8.2%, and proficiency above district averages in all six reported testing categories. Heritage School and Cedar Ridge School are standout elementary schools, with strong mathematics and science results and attendance rates below the district average. Spring Creek Middle School also performs very well academically, although its chronic absenteeism rate is notably high at 22.5%.

For families comparing schools, attendance is one of the district’s most important challenges. Rates are lowest at Green Canyon, Sky View High, and Cedar Ridge, but much higher at Lincoln School, South Cache Middle School, and Cache High. Lincoln is the most concerning elementary profile, combining the district’s highest elementary absenteeism with weaker current achievement. Grade 6 mathematics is another recurring weakness, while science is a relative strength at many elementary schools. Mountain Crest High is especially notable for major ranking improvement over three years, and Lewiston School demonstrates that strong achievement is possible even with substantial student support needs.
