North Cache Middle School

North Cache Middle School is a public school serving grades 7–8 in Richmond, Utah, with 1,194 students in the Cache District. It is the largest of the three Cache District middle schools in this comparison and one of Utah’s strongest middle schools. In 2025–2026, it ranked 11th out of 217 Utah schools, placed in the 95th percentile, and received five stars. Its high ranking reflects a long-term pattern: the school has remained near the top statewide for many years rather than having just one unusually strong year.

Academic results are well above Utah averages. Across grade 7 and 8 English language arts, math, and science, about 63.0% of North Cache students were proficient, compared with about 45.6% statewide and 61.6% across the district. Math was a particular strength, with proficiency of 67.6% in grade 7 and 63.4% in grade 8. North Cache outperformed South Cache Middle School in all six matching subject-grade comparisons. Its overall results were about even with Spring Creek Middle School, although North Cache was stronger in both ELA grades and grade 8 science, while Spring Creek led in grade 7 science and math. North Cache substantially outperformed Mount Logan Middle on matched grades, though Mount Logan serves a different grade configuration and district.

Attendance is another notable strength. Chronic absenteeism was 16.0% in 2024–2025, lower than the Utah rate of 23.8%, South Cache at 22.9%, and Spring Creek at 22.5%. North Cache also ranks exceptionally well for several student groups, including students from low-income households and students receiving special education services. Grade 7 science is the clearest area to watch because it trails the district average and Spring Creek, despite remaining well above the state rate.
