Summary

Anna May Daulton Elementary is a high-performing PK-4 school in Grand Prairie, TX, serving 648 students as part of the top-ranked Mansfield Independent School District (Isd).

Daulton Elementary has a long track record of academic excellence, earning a 5-star rating from Schooldigger for nine consecutive years (2016-2024) and ranking in the 85th percentile or higher statewide for the past decade. The school stands out for its exceptional support of all students, particularly those from low socio-economic backgrounds, who rank in the 92nd percentile statewide—a remarkable achievement. African American students have consistently ranked in the top 10% of the state, reaching the 99th percentile in 2023-2024. The school has also shown dramatic improvement for special education students, jumping from the bottom 29% of the state in 2023-2024 to the 75th percentile in 2025-2026. Daulton achieves these results while spending significantly less per student ($8,214) than many lower-performing nearby schools, such as Imogene Gideon Elementary ($11,660) and Janet Brockett Elementary ($10,140), both of which rank in the bottom 25% of the state.

While Daulton remains a top-tier school, its overall ranking has seen a slight dip from a peak of the 96th percentile in 2018-2019 to the 85th percentile for 2025-2026. This decline is most noticeable among male students (dropping from the 90th to 79th percentile) and Hispanic students (dropping from the 90th to 78th percentile). Nearby Cora Spencer Elementary, another 5-star school in the same district, outperformed Daulton in 4th grade reading (70.87% vs. 62.86%) and math (77.34% vs. 66.43%) in the most recent test scores, suggesting a particularly strong upper-grade program. Despite these trends, Daulton’s consistent excellence and efficient use of resources make it a standout choice for families in the area.
