Summary

Magnolia Parkway Elementary is a PK-4 school in Magnolia, TX, serving 680 students within the Magnolia Independent School District (Isd), a district that ranks in the 81st percentile statewide. The school has a history of solid academic performance, consistently earning 3 or 4 stars over the past decade, with a recent ranking in the 80th percentile for the 2025-2026 school year.

This school truly shines in its support for specific groups of students. It ranks in the 98th percentile for its Gifted and Talented program, a standout feature that far exceeds nearby schools. Additionally, it excels with students from low-income backgrounds, ranking in the 82nd percentile for this group—a remarkable recovery from a dip the previous year. This ability to achieve strong outcomes with its economically disadvantaged population is a key differentiator. The school also shows a positive trend for its Special Education students, jumping to the 79th percentile. However, a significant challenge remains with English Language Learners, who ranked in the 9th percentile, an area where a nearby school like Cedric C Smith appears to have a more robust program. The school’s relatively low student-to-teacher ratio of 13.7 likely contributes to its ability to provide targeted support.

While Magnolia Parkway is a strong performer, it operates within a highly competitive cluster of elementary schools. Its test scores are generally above state and district averages, but it is not the top-tier outlier like Bear Branch Elementary or Buckalew Elementary, which demonstrate remarkable year-over-year stability. The school’s recent history shows a pattern of strong performance punctuated by a notable dip in 2024-2025, followed by a strong rebound, suggesting resilience. To reach the next level of performance and match the consistency of its top-tier neighbors, the school must address the significant challenges faced by its English Language Learner population.
