Summary

Lake Dallas High School in Corinth, TX, is a mid-sized high school serving 1,283 students in grades 9-12 within the Lake Dallas Independent School District (Isd), a district ranked in the top 42% of Texas districts.

This school stands out for its exceptional student retention, with a graduation rate of 99.7% and a dropout rate of just 0.2%—both significantly better than state averages. Over the past five years, Lake Dallas has shown a clear upward trajectory in its state ranking, rising from the 49th percentile to the 69th percentile. This consistent improvement is a powerful indicator of effective leadership and instructional changes. The school also demonstrates strong support for its students, with Special Education and Low Socio-Economic Status students ranking in the 62nd and 65th percentiles, respectively. However, English Language Learner (ELL) students rank in the bottom 30th percentile, indicating a need for targeted resources in this area.

When compared to nearby schools, Lake Dallas occupies a unique middle ground. Its graduation rate is nearly identical to top-performing schools like Flower Mound High School (99.3%) and Guyer High School (99.4%), and significantly higher than Lewisville High School (91.6%). In core subjects, Lake Dallas consistently outperforms the state average, and notably, it outperforms its closest comparable neighbor, Guyer High School, in Algebra I (52.7% vs. 32.8% proficient). While Algebra I remains the school's biggest academic challenge, a recent jump in scores suggests a targeted intervention may be working. The school also faces competition from the nearby charter school, Founders Classical Academy Corinth - Upper School, which outperforms Lake Dallas in English and History but struggles more in Algebra I, giving families clear, distinct choices based on academic focus.

Open Quote Below average on ALL accounts. Education and knowledgeable staff willing and dedicated to teaching students is a must. Daily plans could not be monitored as my daughter watched movies several times a week in each class. The athletic program leaves a lot to be desired. Good football program..no help for the other programs. The district is an eyesore. Look elsewhere. Would not recommend for anyone wanting a solid education to prepare for college entrance.
