Summary

Coppell High School in Coppell, TX, is a large, high-performing public school serving over 4,000 students in grades 9-12 as part of the top-rated Coppell Independent School District (Isd), which ranks in the 98th percentile statewide. This school consistently earns a 5-star rating and ranks in the top 6% of all Texas high schools, with a graduation rate above 98% and a near-zero dropout rate, setting it apart dramatically from nearby schools like Lewisville High School (91.6% graduation rate) and Ranchview High School (94.9% graduation rate).

Academically, Coppell High School excels across the board, with STAAR EOC proficiency rates far exceeding state averages and neighboring schools. For example, in Biology, 94.43% of students are proficient compared to 52.84% at Lewisville High School and 60.71% at Ranchview High School, while in English I Reading, 88.35% are proficient versus 35.80% at Lewisville and 46.90% at Ranchview. The school also shows strong support for Special Education students, who consistently earn a 5-star rating and rank in the top 10% statewide, and English Language Learners, who achieve high percentile ranks. However, an interesting anomaly is Algebra I performance, where proficiency rates (around 60-62%) are notably lower than other subjects, possibly because many students take the test earlier in 8th grade, and this area may benefit from further focus.

Within the same district, the New Technical H S At Coppell magnet school ranks even higher (97th percentile) with exceptional scores like 98% in Biology, offering a specialized pathway for some students. While Coppell High School achieves strong outcomes for most groups, there is a slight but persistent gap for Hispanic and Low Socio-Economic Status students, who perform well above state averages but not at the top-tier level of their peers. Overall, this school provides a stable, high-quality education that far outpaces nearby districts like Lewisville Independent School District (Isd) and Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (Isd), making it a standout choice for families seeking consistent excellence.

Open Quote I know of many parents whose kids study at coppell High school and they are only full of praise for the school's standards and their kid's behavior and grades reflect the same too. I'm currently looking to join a school as a teacher after moving to Texas and Coppell High School seems to top my list after much research. Close Quote

Open Quote Excellent School district and schools. Even though it's a large high school, all the teachers seem to really care about each and every student. The college exposure is there weekly, because colleges from all over the country come to Coppell High School to answer any questions and recruit weekly. The scholarships are more then I have seen at any other High School including Southlake. Close Quote
