Corvallis School District 509J serves about 5,916 students across 13 schools in Corvallis, Oregon — two high schools, two middle schools, and nine elementary schools, a group that includes Franklin School (a K–8 campus) and the small charter Inavale Community Partners dba Muddy Creek Charter School. The district ranks #11 of 141 Oregon districts, in the 92nd percentile with 5 stars, and beats the state in ELA (52.5 vs. 43.8), math (43.6 vs. 32.9), science (43.4 vs. 30.6), graduation (90.4% vs. 83.0%), and chronic absenteeism (30.2% vs. 33.5%).

Franklin School is the clear academic standout, ranked 25th of 709 elementaries (96th percentile, 5 stars) with ELA 79.4, math 72.2, science 61.5, and the district's lowest chronic absenteeism at 14.3% — achieved with a typical 57.42% free/reduced-lunch rate and a 20.2 student-teacher ratio. Bessie Coleman Elementary School (82nd, 4 stars) is strong in math (65.0) and ELA (60.0).
