As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I graduated from this school several years ago, so here is my perspective:

1. From the time I started to the time I ended, the school got increasingly "ghetto-ized" by the time I graduated. It was something that everybody noticed. When I was a freshman the seniors talked about how increasingly "ghetto" or "trashy" the school had become, and as years passed I noticed it too. There were semi frequent fights and stuff. The whole entire purpose of the Dublin School district was to get away from that type of behavior, and Scioto has failed to do so. It's openly talked about how the school district chooses to isolate all of the more impoverished students into this school while keeping the other two high schools safe. There was pretty much open drug dealing among the students by the time I got out.

2. There was a literal pedophile working at the school for a very long time. This isn't some secret. Go and search for "Gregory Lee Dublin Scioto" and you'll see he was sentenced to 21 years in prison. The guy had countless infractions against him over the years, and the administration failed to do anything. Look, we all understand that some allegations are false, but this guy had case after case after case. His personnel file was 283 pages long. In 2003, he was banned from being the track coach due to his inappropriate behavior yet they still allowed him to teach. He got suspended from teaching years later, and they still allowed him back in the classroom until he eventually got caught. I'm sorry, but someone with as many infractions as him should not have been teaching. I get that this isn't an indictment of the entire school, and it could technically happen anywhere, but the fact that it went on for so long, the administration knew about it, and he still taught shows a serious lack of competence.

3. The general area is extremely conservative, as were most of my classmates, yet the teachers were extremely liberal. I had several teachers who felt the need to attempt to indoctrinate us on their political views every chance they get. It was really bad and routinely discussed among my parents and friends' parents.

In conclusion, you could probably do a lot worse than this place for your children, which is why I chose to give it a 2 star instead of a 1 star, but there's no chance I would send my kids here. I can't imagine how bad it would be if they started. There's really no reason for anyone to send their kids here. If you have the money to live in Dublin, you should send them to send them to Jerome or Coffman- or move further away from the city. Close Quote

Open Quote Literally a school that is one of a kind. The teachers in the whole curriculum network preaches communism the apparatus of how much work they put into to prevent the school turning into a house of ghetto culture is at an all time low they would rather shove communist propaganda at us than actually give us a real educational experience that is competitive against private schools and (in secret) would allow POC (people of color) students who are performing forms of delinquency to get away with murder while the Whites there are punished worse for wrong-think. As a graduate from that school, I was lucky to not witness this first hand but I have two other brother (one autistic and a super senior the other just heading to sophomore year) that will have to witness the worst to come ahead as the amount of juvenile perception will outnumber the students that are willing to succeed. I'm sorry for most of the hard working students still here or are graduating the following years, but as it seems that Scioto itself is collapsing on itself not because of the lack of leadership or tranquility for it's students, faculty, or associates but because of the modern American political and cultural atmosphere that advocates political correctness (sourced upon neo-liberal supremacist ordeals and the philosophical debauchery created by the Frankfurt school in the early 20's and 30's) causing growing tension in not only Dublin City Schools, but in many others across our state and country. Open Quote Dublin Scioto is a wonderful school including the teachers, curriculum, and students. My daughter has ADHD and they have been so great assisting with her learning. My son has been taking SMET since 8th grade and both of my kids are honor roll students. The teachers strive for the students to understand the curriculum and go above to make sure they do. The classes offered are excellerated and challenging. I am so grateful that we moved to this school district. I just hope its still as good, if not better when my youngest starts Scioto. Open Quote Delinquency is common and nothing is done of it, many classes are poorly thought out, and a lot of good, well-meaning teachers are put under extreme pressure by the nonsensical bureaucracy of the school board. People openly discuss using and buying drugs without fear of teacher intervention. The hallways are crowded, the lockers are small, the lunches are mediocre on a good day. Close Quote

Open Quote A great school with an excellent staff. There is a sizable amount of multicultural students which may have affected the results to some extent, since many have English as their second language. Personally, I have always felt this made this school more attractive than the other Dublin schools; in today's society, exposure to many cultures can only better prepare our children for the future. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
