Budd Elementary School in Loudonville, OH, enrolls 206 students in grades 4–6, making this small Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village school an intermediate/middle school in practice despite its "elementary" name. One of its clearest strengths is attendance: chronic absenteeism was 5.7% in 2025–2026, down from 10.9% in 2021–2022 and roughly half the district's 11.1% rate. Among the nearby schools listed, only Lucas Heritage Middle School (5.0%) had lower absenteeism, while most others ranged from 9% to 29%.

Budd outperformed the Ohio state average in all seven reported grade and subject areas in 2025–2026. Math is the standout: 4th-grade math proficiency was 87.9% (state: 67.3%), 6th-grade math 71.6% (state: 56.2%), and 5th-grade math 68.3% (state: 59.1%). Comparisons with neighbors require caution because Budd serves grades 4–6 while most nearby schools serve grades 6–8 or 7–8. Where grades overlap, Budd's 6th-grade math ranks second only to Eastern Elementary School (85.3%) and ahead of Ashland, Triway, West Holmes and others. But Budd trails Eastern in 5th-grade math, science and ELA, and its 6th-grade ELA is ahead of only Madison Middle School and Lucas in that group. Budd also reports the highest per-student spending ($10,354 in 2018–2019) and a relatively low student-teacher ratio of 14.2, even as its free/reduced-price lunch rate rose from 32.34% to 42.23%.
