As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote It is easy to give 5 stars to a school district that everything is going well for. The Lima City Schools and Lima Senior High deserve 5 stars because it is not easy to do what they are required to do.

The school offers an array of arts programming and has a vocational training wing as well. They are constantly competing with limited funding, a diverse and poor student population and a community that is always at odds with any leadership structure.

The students that attend Lima Senior High have opportunities to grow and advance that does not exist in the other local school districts. The school district collaborates with other local agencies to provide unique educational opportunities with real work experience.
Without my academic and social education that I received from Lima Senior, I would not have been afforded the professional opportunities that were provided to me.

Lima Senior provides many athletic opportunities outside of the expected Football, Basketball and Baseball sports were typically expect. The swim team is very successful and has many of the local honor roll students on its roster. They have lacross, tennis, soccer, bowling,etc...

Lima Senior provides a complete renaissance of city school district learning.
It is is to be negative with any poor school district, it says so much more to see the teachers, principles and senior staff continue to battle issues they have no control over to consistently provide a strong complete education to their students. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
