Perry Local is a six-school Ohio district serving 4,062 K–12 students across three K–4 elementaries, a grades 5–6 intermediate, a grades 7–8 middle school, and one high school. The district ranks 121 of 773, at the 84th percentile with 4 stars, and all reported 2025–26 scores are above Ohio averages.

Edison Middle School is the strongest-ranked Perry school, at #113 of 1,046 (89th percentile, 4 stars), with 100% Algebra I proficiency in both 2024–25 and 2025–26 plus 100% Geometry in 2025–26; its 8th grade Math is 84.4, Science 82.9, and ELA 74.0, though absenteeism is 19.9%. Lohr Elementary School is the top elementary, at #195 of 1,560 (88th percentile, 4 stars), with 3rd grade Math 89.5 and ELA 88.5, the lowest free/reduced lunch rate (42.47%), and low absenteeism (8.3%). Watson Elementary School has the lowest absenteeism (8.2%) and student-teacher ratio (15.2), with 4th grade Math 87.5 and ELA 81.6; it improved from 72nd to 84th percentile. Pfeiffer Intermediate School scores above district and state averages, with 12.7% absenteeism, but 5th grade Science fell from 85.0 to 76.5.

Southway Elementary School is the only 3-star school, ranked #520 of 1,560 (67th percentile), with all four tested elementary subjects below district averages but above state averages; it also has the highest free/reduced lunch rate (61.81%) and 16.0% absenteeism. Perry High School has a 97.9% graduation rate and strong End-of-Course results—Government 91.8, History 88.0, Biology 80.6, Algebra I 83.0, English II 73.1—and ranks at the 82nd percentile, but has the highest absenteeism (29.5%), weakest Geometry score (57.4%), highest student-teacher ratio (19.5), and highest spending ($10,217). Absenteeism rises from elementary (about 10.8% average) to middle (16.3% average) to high school (29.5%). Poverty and spending do not simply track results: Edison has the lowest spending ($6,912) but top rank, while Southway has high spending ($10,042) and lower elementary outcomes.
