Summary

Cadwallader Ralph Middle School is a public middle school in Las Vegas, Nevada, serving 1,522 students in grades 6-8. The school stands out for its consistently strong academic performance, outpacing the Clark County and Nevada averages in SBAC test scores across all subjects and grade levels.

Cadwallader Ralph Middle School's academic success is particularly noteworthy in certain student subgroups, such as African American and Hispanic students, where it ranks among the top 5-6 middle schools in Nevada. However, the school faces challenges with higher chronic absenteeism rates compared to the state and district averages, ranging from 16.8% to 31.3% over the past few years. This may be linked to the school's extremely high percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, which has ranged from 99.86% to 100% in recent years.

Despite these socioeconomic challenges, Cadwallader Ralph Middle School outperforms most nearby middle schools in academic achievement, such as Lied STEM Academy Middle School, which is only 3 miles away but has significantly lower test scores. The school's steady increase in per-student spending, from $7,158 in 2018-2019 to $9,226 in 2021-2022, may have contributed to its academic success, suggesting the availability of resources and support for students and teachers.

Open Quote This particular school is a joke. The administration is among the worst of the worst. This group of unprofessional, supposedly educated adults will treat you as their enemy. They don’t follow IEP’s and they aren’t in compliance with any kind of district reports. I had no other option than to withdraw my 7th grader and pay for him to attend a private school. They have even treated the private school poorly with not submitting the appropriate paperwork for a transfer. Please reconsider another school before you deal with the hell I and my child have been through. Close Quote

Open Quote The special education department at Cadwallader is far more advanced then any other school i have dealt with. We have lived in 3 other states and have been impressed at the lengths they have gone to when helping my child's advancement. They carry a strong guideline as far as harassment, and bullying goes, but unfortunately (at least in my sons case) it does still happen. Funding has been cut for this school unfortunately cutting teachers and programs. I am still overall very please tho with my and my sons experience at Cadwallader! Close Quote
