Reedy Creek Elementary is a K–5 school in Cary, NC, serving about 605 students in Wake County Schools. In 2025–2026, the school ranked in the 48th percentile of North Carolina elementary schools — solidly average for the state, but well below most of its immediate neighbors: Weatherstone Elementary sits in the 87th percentile, Farmington Woods Elementary in the 85th, Cary Elementary in the 84th, and Northwoods Elementary in the 77th. Only Adams Elementary ranks lower among nearby schools, and Cardinal Charter Academy (62nd percentile) also outranks it.

The bigger story is the school’s recent climb. In 2022–2023, the school sat near the bottom quartile statewide (25th percentile). It rose to the 38th percentile the next year and has held near the 48th for two years. EOG results tell the same story: 4th grade math proficiency jumped from 32.6% to 55.2%, and 5th grade reading went from 33.7% to 55.0%. Students now score close to the state average in most subjects, though about 11 points behind the Wake County average. The gap grows with grade level — 3rd graders trail the district by just 4 points in math, while 4th and 5th graders trail by 14–15. English Learner students scored at the 78th percentile statewide in 2025–2026 — up from the 39th percentile the prior year — and African American students ranked at the 59th percentile, both above the school’s overall ranking. Hispanic students improved from the 21st percentile to the 47th. The weaker areas are gifted students (27th percentile) and special education students (25th). Context matters: 67.4% of Reedy Creek students qualify for free/reduced-price lunch, roughly double the rate at Farmington Woods Elementary (31%) and Weatherstone Elementary (31.1%).
