Comfort Elementary is a small, rural PK–5 school in Comfort, North Carolina, serving just 127 students — the smallest school in its comparison group — with nearly all students (about 97.6%) qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Notably, Comfort's low-income students have ranked as high as the 78th percentile statewide, a strong sign the school is serving its core population well.
