East Bladen High

East Bladen High is a traditional public high school in Elizabethtown, NC, serving approximately 525 students in grades 9 through 12 as part of Bladen County Schools, in a rural region where nearly all students at surrounding schools come from low-income households. The school ranks 455th out of 662 North Carolina high schools, placing it at the 31st percentile with a two-star rating. That puts it above West Bladen High and East Columbus Junior-Senior High, but well below Whiteville High and especially Bladen Early College, which ranks 87th statewide.

Academically, East Bladen has an unusual pattern worth understanding. Students who reach upper-level math perform strongly: Math III proficiency reached 83.1% in 2025-26, well above the state average and nearly matching Whiteville High.
