Elizabethtown Primary consistently ranks in the bottom 10-15% of North Carolina elementary schools, with a ranking between 1,046 and 1,412 out of around 1,500 schools over the past 10 years. The school's performance on state standardized tests is significantly below the state and district averages, with only 24.1% of 3rd-grade students proficient in reading in 2024-2025, compared to the state average of 46.7% and the district average of 28.2%. Open Quote My special needs child is in 2nd grade. She was also in Elizabethtown Primary for kindergarten and pre-k. The first 2 years she was considered developmentally delayed. This year she has been diagnosed with aspergers. This school has absolutely nothing for her. Many of the teachers don't even know what autism is, much less how a child with autism should be taught. I am very disappointed with Bladen County schools. Close Quote
