Morven Elementary is a small, rural elementary school in Morven, NC, serving 197 students in grades K-6 through Anson County Schools. In the most recent spending data available (2018-19), the school spent more per pupil ($13,556) than any nearby school, yet its student-teacher ratio of 17.5 is higher than most comparable schools, including Lilesville Elementary at 12.4 and Wadesboro Primary at 12.8. The school shows signs of progress, but with small grade-level cohorts, year-to-year swings should be read cautiously. The consistent pattern — low and declining reading scores through grade 6 — is still the most important focus for families and school leaders.
