Open Quote At first Randolf School seemed like a good school. Everyone seemed happy. But one of the problems of the school was that the principal tore off every single door of the school and you could just see people going restroom. The teachers never taught my 11-year-old son a thing. I decided to come into the school to observe and I found that the teachers were very mean and racist and sexist. They never yelled at the girls when the yelled but with the boys, the teachers were always mean too even when they were super quiet. Asians and African Americans were called ”Asiger”.

All in all, it was a disaster Close Quote

Open Quote We have had a great experience at Randolph Heights. I have two very different kids, one in special ed and one in gifted and talented, and both have been supported and thrive in school. The community is fantastic, the principal in responsive and smart, the kids are kind and teachers give it their all. Its definitely a hidden gem in St. Paul. Close Quote

Open Quote Randolph Heights used to be a great school. High test scores, dedicated teachers, and very community oriented. But the new principal is doing some odd things. She's banned handshaking and high fives because someone might get hurt. We used to have a school dance sponsored by the PTA, but she banned the dance because someone's feeling might get hurt. At the first school assembly of the year, with all the kids waiting quietly and patiently, she strode to the front and yelled at them for 10 minutes about how to behave in an assembly. They could have taught her!

We used to have a door (exterior door) on the girls bathroom, but she removed it because of one act of vandalism. In doing this she's using shame and embarrassment to punish half the school for the actions of one student. And this with some of the girls entering puberty. She hasn't given the students any way that they can get their bathroom back. She just insists that she will keep the door off and expose any student using the bathroom to the view of anyone walking by in the hall. My daughter now 'hold it' all day and runs to the bathroom the second she gets home.

As I say, it was a great school but you might want to think about another school now. Close Quote
