In 1972, we specifically settled in the Hopkins School District where one of us had became a teacher in 1969, and later, became an administrator in the District. We have been delighted to have both our two children and two grandchildren go to Alice Smith School, in Hopkins. They have benefited from professionally dedicated administrators, teachers, counselors, social workers and support staff through their innovation in educational focus and genuine concern for, and caring of, their students. They encourage parental involvement in all parts of the students' school lives. There is an intentional focus on preparing students to think about their ongoing educational and vocational opportunities, beyond elementary and secondary school levels. We're really happy to have had two generations from our family attend Alice Smith School, in Hopkins.

What a great school! Dedicated, smart teachers, the office staff is always friendly and helpful. My kids love the school and the community built around it.

Alice Smith is a WONDERFUL school! I can't say enough great things about it. My kids love it there, and the academics are top notch. The teachers are caring and I wouldn't send my kids to any other school in town.

I have a two children who attend this school. One who is gifted and the other who needs that extra help. Each has there own needs and learning styles and teachers do a great job with them. Principle Jody and her staff have always been attentive and responsive to our questions and our children. I also put my money were my mouth is through buying a house in this school district after renting in the area.

We love Alice Smith! The teachers and staff are so amazing with the kids. It is really a fun and supportive environment, you can tell that they really care about the kids. I also appreciate the level of communication we receive from both the school and teachers. I have always been able to email or call the teachers if there has been a question or concern. I have always received a response back and felt like the teacher was a partner in addressing any issues both at home (homework) or at school. I really can't say enough about Alice Smith...it's everything an elementary school should be.

I'm disappointed in the information here on this website. I feel the data on academics and testing is especially inaccurate. I have been an Alice Smith parent for 8 years now with my 2 children. I love the teachers, the caring staff, the diversity, and the general sense of community. Not to mention I've seen schoolwide reading and math scores steadily increasing from year to year. I'm confident my children are getting an excellent education that will prepare them for college. Our family loves Alice Smith and we wouldn't send our kids anywhere else.

Excellent and caring teachers and leadership. Children are challenged and supported. Students well prepared for the wider world. Small class sizes and everyone knows everyone’s name.

We have two kids at Alice Smith and are thrilled with the school! The principal and staff are great. They have provided extra help when needed, and we have also been impressed with their gifted and talented program. We love sending our kids to this great neighborhood school!

Alice Smith is a fantastic neighborhood school that excels at creating a strong sense of community, challenging and supporting its students, and modeling the best in global citizenship. I've loved how involved parents and students are in frequent evening activities like the Imagination Fair or Heritage festival. My family has also been impressed with the way the staff shows high expectations for all kinds of students. Both of my kids have benefited from the gifted and talented program and one of my kiddos has really been helped via Hopkins' highly respected Special Ed staff. Finally, we've been really proud of the way Alice Smith teaches respect and tolerance for others. I know other families whose kids with special needs have felt like odd ducks at their schools, but Alice Smith is full of so many kids who are different in so many different ways (ethnically, racially, etc) that tolerance for others is a given. Our kids here are taught to be kind and understand the value of difference on a daily basis. I'm so proud that they attend a school like Alice Smith.

I have a second grader and soon to be Kindergartner at Alice Smith Elementary. We absolutely love the school! The teachers and staff are phenomenal and truly care about the kids. My son has thrived since attending and came out of Kindergarten reading! Besides the world class education, I love the diversity that our community brings. The annual event of Heritage Festival is just one tiny way the school celebrates the “Power of We” and the beautiful community and school that we have. I would highly recommend this school if you are looking in the Hopkins area!

We moved from Robbinsdale back to Hopkins specifically for alice smith when my son was going into kindergarten! It’s a great school, fantastic teachers who take time to get to know the kids and work towards their goals and push them to the next level

I'm so grateful that my 3 children attend Alice Smith Elementary. It's a very diverse school that celebrates culture & equality. The education is excellent and most of all the staff obviously takes to heart the well being of their students.

We love Alice Smith. Both my daughters have attended Alice Smith. We have had terrific teachers who get to know them. The principal is caring and connected to the whole community. I am thankful that my children have been challenged and supported in their education. There is a terrific gifted and talented program. I love the diversity of our school and how all students are valued and seen.

Alice Smith Elementary School is amazing. The teachers are supportive and accommodating to student needs. The principal cares about your kids and somehow manages to know everyone's name. This school has amazing diversity within its population, which I absolutely love for my children. They are growing up knowing that there are many cultures in the world and that they can be friends with anyone. The community that is created within the school is rich. I highly recommend this school to anyone searching. I loved it so much that I chose to open enroll my kids here. We have been in the school for 6 years now, and there is nowhere else I would rather have my kids grow up.

Our children were supposed to go to a different school in the district, and we made the choice to send them to Alice Smith. They have flourished in the enriched and gifted/talented programs, and the school embraces diversity and multiculturalism.

We could not have found a better school or community!! So warm & welcoming! Literally all of the staff here are so amazing & personable! My son loves it here and has nothing but great things to say everyday! His academics are way above grade level & they are great with keeping him challenged & continuing to excel!

I really like how diverse Alice smith is and how they celebrate every culture. I value Principle. De’s engagement in the community, like sponsoring a tabl the Father Daughter Dance. I like the how the school work gives my child a challenge so my daughter be the best student she can be.
