Norman County East Secondary is a small public school in Twin Valley, Minnesota, serving 71 students in grades 7–12 as part of the Norman County East School District, which is ranked 336th of 458 Minnesota districts.

The school's recent results have swung dramatically. It was a 4-star school in 2023–24, ranking in the 88th percentile statewide, then fell to 1 star in 2024–25 at the 14th percentile, before recovering only partially to the 30th percentile in 2025–26 (330th of 473 high schools). In 2025–26, proficiency was below both the district and the state in every tested subject: math 4.9% (district 26.4%, state 44.9%), reading 22.7% (state 48.6%), and science 10.7% (state 25.5%). Math is the clearest weakness — 4.9% is the lowest among nearby regular high schools, compared with 42% at Fertile-Beltrami Secondary, 54.3% at Ada-Borup-West Secondary, 38% at Ulen-Hitterdal Secondary, 24% at Waubun Secondary, and 10.1% at Mahnomen Secondary. The school's student-teacher ratio of 8.8 is the lowest among nearby regular high schools, which range from 12.7 to 17.3, yet that advantage has not yet shown up in proficiency results. Its poverty level (47.89% free/reduced lunch) is lower than Waubun Secondary's 58.3%, even though Waubun outperformed it in all three tested subjects.
