Elementary schools in the Edina Public School District serve 3,971 students across seven schools in one of Minnesota's top-performing districts — ranked #7 of 458 districts statewide, in the 98th percentile with 5 stars. Six schools serve K–5 or PK–5 and have test and rank data; Early Childhood Special Educational serves PK–K only, with 146 students, and reports no test scores or rank, so it should not be compared on proficiency.

Five of the six tested schools rank at or above the 96th percentile statewide. Creek Valley Elementary is the current top-ranked Edina elementary at #15 of 869, with the highest science score (55.7) and the largest one-year gains in math, reading, and science. Concord Elementary (#18) has the strongest math (82.2) and reading (77.0) and the largest enrollment (741). Normandale Elementary (#23) combines high achievement with the lowest free/reduced lunch rate (5.98%). Highlands Elementary (#35) and Countryside Elementary (#38) round out the top group. Cornelia Elementary (#150, 4 stars) is the district outlier, with the lowest proficiency in all subjects and the highest free/reduced lunch rate (26.58%), though it still exceeds state averages.

Math ranges from 61.2 to 82.2 across the K–5 schools (district 72.4, state 44.9), reading from 63.7 to 77.0 (district 75.4, state 48.6), and science from 41.5 to 55.7 (district 5th-grade 47.1, state 25.9). All six tested schools beat the state in every subject. Science is the relative weak spot for most, and grade-level cohorts vary widely — Normandale's 3rd-grade reading is 64.4 versus 81.8 in 4th grade.
