Pioneer Valley Regional is a small rural public school in Northfield, Massachusetts, serving 239 students in grades 7–12 as part of the Pioneer Valley district. It is currently rated 3 stars and ranked 167th of 353 Massachusetts schools in 2025–2026 (53rd percentile) — an improvement over the previous two years, though still below its 2018–2019 peak of 5 stars and the 90th percentile. The school's results are mixed, with real strengths alongside clear areas for growth.

The biggest strength is keeping students in school through graduation. In 2024–2025, Pioneer Valley Regional posted a 97.3% graduation rate and a 2.7% dropout rate, better than nearly every nearby school. Franklin County Technical came in at 93.8% and 5.6%, Frontier Regional at 93.5% and 3.2%, Greenfield High at 87.6% and 6.7%, and Turners Fall High at 81.6% and 14.3%; only Four Rivers Charter Public School did better, at 100% and 0%. Tenth-grade English language arts is another bright spot: 51.85% proficiency, above the state's 45.48% and second only to Frontier Regional's 53.57%.

Subgroup results also vary: female students rank in the 71st percentile (4 stars), while male students rank in the 35th percentile (2 stars), and low-income students have ranked strongly. Spending was $25,682 per student in 2020–2021, second highest among nearby schools after Mohawk Trail Regional School ($26,719).
