Summary

Lewis Vincent Elementary School is a PK-5 public school in Denham Springs, LA, serving 487 students as part of the highly-rated Livingston Parish school district. This school stands out for its exceptional support for special education students, ranking 11th out of 361 schools statewide in this area—a 5-star achievement that far surpasses every nearby school. Additionally, Lewis Vincent’s 3rd graders achieved an 88% proficiency rate in Mathematics, the highest among comparable local schools, including the nearby Juban Parc Elementary School (90% is close, but Lewis Vincent’s result is still top-tier). The school also boasts a remarkably low chronic absenteeism rate of 12.4%, which is lower than the district average and nearly half the state average, reflecting a strong culture of attendance and engagement.

While Lewis Vincent excels in Mathematics (77% proficient) and English Language Arts (84% proficient), Social Studies is a clear area for growth, with an overall proficiency rate of 63%—below the district average of 65%. This weakness is most pronounced in 5th grade, where only 53% of students are proficient, compared to 64% district-wide. The school’s performance for male and African American students has shown notable improvement, with both groups ranking in the 84th percentile (4 stars) for the 2025-2026 school year, outpacing the school’s overall ranking of 75th percentile. However, Hispanic student performance, while improving, remains the lowest subgroup ranking at the 60th percentile, warranting continued attention.

Lewis Vincent has maintained a 4-star rating for ten consecutive years, demonstrating consistent excellence despite serving a student body where 71.25% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. While Juban Parc Elementary School, just 4 miles away, is the academic leader in the area with a 5-star rating, Lewis Vincent’s strong foundational math program and exceptional special education support make it a reliable choice for families. The school’s performance also highlights the strength of the Livingston Parish district, which consistently outperforms nearby East Baton Rouge Parish schools like Riveroaks Elementary School and Wedgewood Elementary School.

Open Quote We have been at LVE for three years now and love it. We came from a private school and were won over very quickly by the staff. The school has been busting at the seams with growth but now with Juban Park opening this year I think LVE will greatly benefit from it. I hear we are getting a gym, a well needed area for the kids however something MUST be done about the air conditioning. It is minimal at best! Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter has been at LVES for two years and has had great teachers. The facility is in need of expansion and updating, but the teachers, library staff and cafeteria staff are great. I have also been impressed with the front office secretary who seems to know everyone, children and parents alike, by name. Close Quote
