West Jessamine High School in Nicholasville, in Jessamine County, enrolls 1,272 students in grades 9–12. In 2025–2026, its KSA proficiency rates were above the state in all six reported subjects, and graduation was 97%. The main concern is attendance: chronic absenteeism was 25%, above both the state rate of 24% and the district rate of 19%.

Mathematics is West’s clearest strength against nearby schools: 49% were proficient, compared with 40% statewide, 44% districtwide and an average of 47% among nearby schools with comparable results. West was above the state in every subject and above the district in five of six, matching it in Reading. Its nearby-school results were more mixed: it exceeded East Jessamine High School in four subjects, but was below the broader peer average in five.
