Wilmore has two schools serving kindergarten through grade 12: Wilmore Elementary School serves grades K–5, and The Providence School serves grades 6–12; together, they enroll 603 students in Jessamine County. Their different grade ranges mean families are choosing between an elementary school and a secondary school, not two schools serving the same students. Most importantly, Wilmore Elementary was above the Kentucky state results in all 10 reported subject-and-grade comparisons for 2025–26, by 4 to 30 percentage points.
Wilmore Elementary stands out for its consistent test results: its average across those 10 comparisons was 63%, versus 44% statewide, an advantage of 19 points. Its biggest lead was in grade 5 social studies (68% versus 38%); its narrowest was in grade 4 reading (54% versus 50%). The Providence School has a mixed picture: its reported graduation rate was 97% in 2023–24, but chronic absenteeism was 66% in 2025–26, compared with 24% statewide and 11% at Wilmore. Providence’s three reported 2024–25 test scores were 32 to 39 points below the state in their matching grades and subjects. Those scores are from different grades and a different year than Wilmore’s, so they do not provide a direct current-year school comparison.
Wilmore’s results improved on average, though individual subjects and grades moved in different directions: its average rose from 60% in 2024–25 to 63% in 2025–26.
