Carter G. Woodson Academy serves 316 students in grades 6–12 in Lexington, in Fayette County. Its 2025–26 results show a pronounced grade-level divide: seventh graders did particularly well, while some eleventh-grade outcomes lagged. The clearest takeaway is that the school’s academic strengths are concentrated in particular grades, rather than consistent across grades 6–12.

Seventh grade is a standout compared with state and district results: 72% of students were proficient in reading, 22 points above the state and 17 above the district; math proficiency was 53%, 14 points above the state and 8 above the district.
