Southern Elementary School is a public school in Lexington, Kentucky, serving prekindergarten through grade 5 in the Fayette County area, with 476 students. Its latest test results are below state, district, and nearby-school averages in every reported subject; the most important takeaway is that students’ proficiency results remain behind these comparison groups, even though science is relatively close.

Science is the school’s strongest subject against local and statewide benchmarks: 37% of students were proficient, compared with 40% statewide, 42% in the Fayette County district, and a 45% nearby-school average. Math is the weakest relative to nearby schools: 34% were proficient, versus a 51% nearby average and 50% in the district.
