Summary

Northern Elementary School is a Fayette County public school in Lexington serving 424 students in PK–5. In 2025–2026, its 3rd-grade math proficiency was 24%, compared with 43% statewide and 50% districtwide; reading ranged from 26% to 38% across grades 3–5, versus state rates of 49%–51% and district rates of 54%–57%. Results over time are mixed: the average across grades 3–5 reading fell from 36% in 2022–2023 to 31% in 2025–2026, while the 4th-grade reading score rose from 33% to 38%. Fourth-grade science improved from 13% to 25%, but 5th-grade writing fell from 45% to 9%.
