J C Harmon High serves 1,285 students in grades 9–12 in Kansas City, Kansas, as part of the Kansas City district. In 2025–26, just 12% of students were proficient in English language arts (ELA), 6% in math and 7% in science; chronic absenteeism was 66%, compared with 39% in the district and 18% statewide. Among nearby conventional high schools reporting absenteeism, only one had a higher rate.
