Mitchell High School in Mitchell, Indiana, is a grade 9–12 comprehensive high school serving 424 students as the only high school in the Mitchell Community Schools district. The school ranks in the bottom half of Indiana high schools, currently 269th of 415 (35th percentile, 2 stars), a modest recovery from a 1-star low in 2022–2023 but below its 2021–2022 peak. About 61.56% of students qualified for free or reduced lunch in 2024–2025, up sharply from around 51% in the two prior years.

Special education is a standout, performing at the 86th percentile (4 stars) in 2025–2026 and the 87th percentile in 2023–2024, far above the school's overall 35th percentile. Biology proficiency has more than tripled, from 13.98% in 2022–2023 to 44.58% in 2025–2026, level with Bedford-North Lawrence High School and ahead of Orleans Junior-Senior High School, Shoals Community High School, and Paoli Junior & Senior High School.
