Summary:

MSD Washington Township serves roughly 11,158 students across 12 schools — eight elementary, three middle, and one high school — in the Indianapolis area, and carries a 3-star district rating, ranking 159th of 374 Indiana districts (57th percentile). That district-wide rating hides wide variation between individual schools, which range from 4 stars down to 1 star.

Four schools stand out. Clearwater Elementary School (85th percentile, 4 stars) posts the strongest elementary results — ELA 56.35, Math 64.54, Science 59.52, Social Studies 61.24 — and Allisonville Elementary School (73rd percentile, 4 stars) has the district's lowest free/reduced lunch share at 33.43%. Among middle schools, Eastwood Middle School (78th percentile, 4 stars) and Northview Middle School (71st percentile, up from 49th in 2023-24) lead. At the other end, Greenbriar Elementary School (1 star, highest chronic absenteeism at 23.9%) and Willow Lake Elementary School (1 star, Science 18.57) face the biggest challenges, while Westlane Middle School has the lowest math proficiency in the district at 27.25% despite the highest spending per student ($15,840).

Some patterns are worth knowing. All three middle schools improved their rank percentile over three years, and elementary social studies rose almost everywhere. Attendance tracks with outcomes at the extremes: Crooked Creek Elementary School has the lowest chronic absenteeism at 9.0% with above-district math and social studies, while Greenbriar's 23.9% accompanies the lowest ELA score. Free/reduced lunch and spending do not predict results on their own. North Central High School, the only high school, graduates 94.4% of students — above the state's 89.7% — but sits slightly below state averages on SAT ERW and Math, with chronic absenteeism at 17.5%.
