Monroe-Gregg School District serves the Monrovia area with three schools covering prekindergarten through 12th grade: Monrovia Elementary School (PK–5, 741 students), Monrovia Middle School (6–8, 337 students), and Monrovia High School (9–12, 489 students), for a total enrollment of 1,567. The district is ranked 265th of 374 in Indiana, at the 29th percentile, with a 1-star rating — but that single district number masks real differences among the three schools.

Monrovia High School is the highest-ranked and most consistent school, at the 41st percentile with 2 stars in 2025–2026 and the same percentile in each of the three reported years. It has the district's lowest chronic absenteeism (8.7%) and a 92.8% graduation rate, above the state's 89.7%, though SAT Math proficiency is 19.66% versus the state's 25.6%. Monrovia Elementary School is 2 stars at the 33rd percentile and posts the district's strongest all-grade math proficiency at 38.97%, compared with the district's 29.38%, but early-grade reading and 4th-grade science lag well behind state averages. Monrovia Middle School is the clearest concern: 1 star, 27th percentile, and a declining trend from the 40th to the 32nd to the 27th percentile, with all-grade math proficiency of 19.59%, nearly ten points below the district.

A shared strength is attendance: all three schools have chronic absenteeism near 9% or lower (elementary 9.0%, middle 9.0%, high 8.7%), well below Indiana's 16.7%.
