Hufford Junior High School serves 1,072 students in grades 6–8 in Joliet, Illinois, as part of Joliet PSD 86. In 2025–2026, its English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency was above the district’s, but its math and grade 8 science proficiency were below the district’s. The central concern for families is that Hufford remained below state proficiency in all three subjects, with the largest state gaps in math and science.

ELA is Hufford’s strongest subject relative to the district: 42% of students were proficient, compared with 37% districtwide, though that was still below the state’s 56%.
