The eight schools in CCSD 93 serve kindergarten through grade 8: six elementary schools serving K–5 and two middle schools serving grades 6–8. In 2025–2026, the elementary-school average was 56% in ELA and 44% in math, compared with state results of 56% and 40%. The most important finding is that elementary results vary widely from school to school: the range was 25 points in ELA and 23 points in math.
Roy De Shane led elementary ELA at 69%, 13 points above the state, and was second in math at 53%. Cloverdale led math at 57%, 17 points above the state, and was second in ELA at 64%. At the lower end, Carol Stream had the lowest elementary ELA result at 44%, while Elsie C. Johnson had the lowest math result at 34%. In fifth-grade science, Heritage Lakes led at 66%, 19 points above the state. The two middle schools shared a subject split: both were above the state in ELA, averaging 62%, and below it in math, averaging 32% versus the state’s 40%.
Recent changes were mixed: the unweighted school-average ELA score rose 2.7 points, less than the state’s 3.2-point rise, while the school-average math score fell 2 points as the state gained 1 point. Both middle schools’ math scores declined—4 points at Jay Stream and 8 at Stratford. SchoolDigger ranked Roy at the 70th percentile and Cloverdale at the 69th in 2025–2026, compared with the 29th percentile for Elsie C. Johnson and the 31st for Carol Stream. Other context does not sort neatly with results: Roy’s student-teacher ratio was 6.8 and its free/reduced lunch eligible share was 49% in school year 2024–2025, while Elsie’s ratio was also low at 7.3 despite lower scores; these measures are context, not explanations for performance.
