Joint School District No. 2 in Idaho serves 35 elementary-level schools (including a PK-8 academy and a special center) with about 16,147 students across the Meridian area. The district ranks 12th out of 101 Idaho districts (4 stars, 88th percentile) and outperforms the state by roughly 14–15 points in math, ELA, and science, but the school-by-school picture reveals a wide range of outcomes.

The district’s top elementary schools are exceptional by any measure: Eagle Hills Elementary School ranks #3 statewide with 79.5% math proficiency and 82.2% ELA, while Galileo Stem Academy (#5) leads in ELA at 83.8% and Paramount Elementary School (#8) posts the highest math score at 80.0%. Other strong magnets include Summerwind Stem Academy (#14), Pioneer School Of The Arts (#29), and Barbara Morgan Stem Academy (#35). At the other end, Meridian Elementary School (#286) and Desert Sage Elementary School (#268) struggle with math and ELA proficiency below 42%, and both have high poverty rates above 65%.
