Open Quote Being new to the Rockdale school system I was unsure what the experience would be. So far Pine Street Elementary has made Me and my child's welcoming into the community fantastic. The teachers are awesome and I must say that they communicate accomplishments and concerns (if there were any) and that is a really big plus. When you step on the campus you get a since of pride. The school is newly built and they do a great job with the up keep. Every week it seems like the children have new activities that they are able to participate in and I love the fact that my child really like the food selections they have at school. Pine Street and its gifted program is really setting a standard amongst the Rockdale school system wanting to keep the children engaged. I felt compelled to write an honest review of 5 stars based on my experience so far amongst the six categories (Homework, Teachers, Leadership, Character, Learning differences and Bullying). When I look at my child's class and how bright they are I see the future of Conyers/Rockdale and beyond. Thank you all for the work you all do and us as parents appreciate you all. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
