Vickery Creek is a consistently strong performer, ranking in the 93rd percentile statewide (91st out of 1,219 elementary schools) and earning a 5-star rating. Its standout strength is mathematics, where proficiency rates have held steady in the mid-to-high 70s across grades 3-5 for three straight years—well above district averages and roughly 30 points above state averages. The school also excels in supporting students with special needs, ranking in the top 5% statewide for that subgroup—a remarkable achievement that sets it apart from most schools. The school also achieves gender parity in test scores, with boys and girls performing nearly identically.

Compared to nearby schools, Vickery Creek sits in a strong middle tier. It outperforms Sawnee Elementary, Brandywine Elementary, and George W. Whitlow Elementary on overall rankings, while trailing elite performers like Daves Creek Elementary (ranked 5th statewide) and Big Creek Elementary (ranked 30th). Notably, Vickery Creek achieves these results while spending less per student ($12,380) than several schools it outperforms, including Brandywine ($14,444) and Whitlow ($14,726). The school also showed it can fix weaknesses: 4th grade reading scores improved by 15 percentage points over three years, closing a gap with the district. Science scores have also climbed above district averages in recent years. For parents seeking strong academics, excellent special education support, and high attendance, Vickery Creek is a compelling choice.

Open Quote Very limited communication from administration. Last minute notification of events and needs from the school. Too much Franklin Covey Leader in Me and too little academics. This school use to be a fabulous school and has been on the decline over the past 5 years. It is so sad to see. Close Quote

Open Quote Great teachers and staff at VCE but I’ve been very disappointed with how the kids here behave. Not necessarily the schools fault as respect and kindness start in the home. I would maybe think twice here if you have a sensitive child to bullying and getting picked on. I don’t think there’s enough effort made by VCE against bullying imo compared to the 3 other Elementary schools we have attended. These behaviors would absolutely not be tolerated and I sincerely hope things get a little more strict in this particular area!!!! We have had great teachers so far though:) Close Quote

Open Quote This is a great school in that there is a lot of parent involvement, but the administration proves difficult to communicate with when needed. Also, I have no idea how they say the student-teacher ratio is 17-1. My child has been there 4 years and has had 25-27 kids in class each year. This is far too much for one teacher to handle and the kids ultimately suffer. We've had a mediocre experience here at best, just not sure it's all that some say it is in the way of providing a stellar education. Close Quote
