Summary

Midway Elementary School in Alpharetta, GA, is a PK-5 school serving 1,022 students in the highly-ranked Forsyth County School District, which ranks 7th out of 201 districts statewide. The school has earned a 5-star rating for six consecutive years and currently ranks 70th out of roughly 1,200 elementary schools in Georgia, placing it in the 94th percentile statewide.

Midway's standout strength is mathematics. In the most recent testing year, proficiency rates reached 77.6% in 3rd grade, 85.5% in 4th grade, and 77.1% in 5th grade — all dramatically above state averages (which range from 44-50%) and well above district averages. The 4th grade math performance is particularly impressive, outpacing every nearby school except Daves Creek Elementary School and Creek View Elementary School, both of which hit 91.1%. Midway also excels with specific student groups, ranking 28th out of 503 schools statewide for Hispanic student performance (94th percentile) and 55th out of 1,183 for male students (95th percentile).

Beyond academics, Midway stands out for its efficiency and attendance. The school spends $12,028 per student — the lowest among all comparable nearby schools, which range from $12,258 to $18,909 — while producing top-tier results. Chronic absenteeism has been cut dramatically from 11.0% in 2022-2023 to just 5.0% in 2025-2026, less than one-third of the state rate (17.7%) and well below the district average (8.2%). While Midway sits in an extraordinarily competitive corridor — with schools like Brookwood Elementary and Shiloh Point Elementary nearby — its combination of strong math outcomes, low absenteeism, and cost-efficient operations makes it one of the most impressive schools in an already elite cluster. Note: English Language Arts scores for the current year will be released in December.

Open Quote I have/had 3 kids go to Midway. I have 2 gifted daughters who have enjoyed the Horizons program. I also have a son who is developmentally delayed. The extra help he's received with speech and from the special ed teachers is top notch. I couldn't dream up a better team to help him. I feel lucky to have my kids go to Midway. It feels like community. Close Quote

Open Quote This school has surpassed all of my expectations as a parent. The teachers, staff, and administrators are hands on and excellent. I had so many fears about this school when my son started kindergarten, we almost tried to have him switched somehow but I am so glad we decided to give it a try. Couldn't be happier! I have a bright child and he is so very well taken care of here. Wouldn't change a thing. Close Quote
