Summary

Hammond Creek Middle School is a public middle school in Dalton, Georgia, serving 1,059 students in grades 6-8. The school is part of the Dalton Public Schools district, which is ranked 107 out of 206 districts in the state.

Academically, Hammond Creek Middle School has consistently ranked in the top half of Georgia middle schools, with performance on the Milestones Assessment generally on par with or slightly above the district and state averages in both English Language Arts and Mathematics. However, the school has a high percentage of students (over 70%) receiving free or reduced-price lunch, suggesting a relatively low-income student population. In comparison, nearby schools like Heritage Middle School and Westside Middle School have lower free and reduced lunch rates and stronger academic performance.

While Hammond Creek Middle School's overall performance is respectable, there is room for improvement, especially in comparison to higher-performing nearby schools. The school could explore strategies to address the needs of its socioeconomically disadvantaged student population, such as targeted interventions, additional resources, and partnerships with community organizations. By addressing these areas, Hammond Creek Middle School can work to provide a more equitable and enriching educational experience for all its students.

Open Quote As a teacher I can say there’s rigor. The focus on work is there, but admin support is missing, favoritism, and ill treatment of some teachers exist. The 6th grade admin is insanely rude, rough, and demeaning. she should not be an administrator. She has publicly said, on several occasions, she doesn’t even “like kids”. I don’t recommend any new teacher experience the horror of an unprofessional setting. Close Quote
