The Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (AITE) is a public magnet high school in Stamford, CT, serving 658 students in grades 9–12. It sits within the Stamford School District, which overall ranks in the bottom 16% of Connecticut districts with a 1-star rating. AITE, however, is a clear standout: it ranks 59th out of 133 Connecticut high schools (56th percentile, 3 stars) for 2025–2026 and has held a consistent 3-star rating for a decade. Nearly half of its students (48%) qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, making its performance especially notable.

AITE's most striking results are with students often underserved elsewhere. Low-income students rank 7th statewide (5 stars), and Hispanic students rank 12th (4 stars). Among regional magnet schools, AITE is competitive: P-Technical Norwalk (rank 55) and Center for Global Studies (rank 52) score slightly higher overall, but AITE matches them in ELA and graduation. The main weaknesses are science—below the state average despite the engineering theme—and chronic absenteeism (20.2%), which is better than Stamford High (28.1%) and Westhill (33.4%) but above the state's 16.4%. Overall, AITE is a stable, high-performing school delivering exceptional results for a diverse, economically mixed student body.
