P-Technical Norwalk is a small specialized public high school in Norwalk, Connecticut, serving 388 students in grades 9-12. Sharing a campus with Norwalk High School, it delivers strikingly different results. While the Norwalk School District overall ranks in the bottom quarter of Connecticut districts, P-Technical Norwalk ranks 55th out of 133 high schools statewide, earning 3 stars. About half of its students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, similar to the district's large comprehensive high schools, but the outcomes diverge sharply.

The most impressive number is the graduation rate: 100% in 2024-25, far above the 91.5% and 91.3% posted by Norwalk High School and Brien McMahon High School. Test scores follow the same pattern: 64.4% of P-Tech juniors were proficient in SAT English Language Arts, versus 41.7% and 43.0% at those two schools, and math proficiency was 37.9% compared to roughly 20% at both. The school has been steadily improving, climbing from 70th statewide in 2022-23 to 55th in 2025-26, and historically earned strong results for students receiving special education services and those from low-income households. There are areas to watch, however. Science proficiency swung from 26.7% in 2024-25 to 44.8% in 2025-26, still below the state average. A notable gender gap appeared in 2025-26, with male students ranking in the 64th percentile statewide and female students in the 29th. And the school's formerly outstanding results for Hispanic and low-income students, while still above average, have slipped recently. Overall, P-Technical Norwalk is doing far more with similar demographics than its larger district peers.
