Joseph A. Foran High School in Milford, CT, serves 727 students in grades 9–12 as one of two comprehensive public high schools in the Milford School District. Rated 3 out of 5 stars and ranked 53rd out of 133 Connecticut high schools, Foran sits in the 60th percentile statewide—a position it has held steadily for over a decade. The school's strongest academic areas are English and math: on the Grade 11 SAT, 73.6% of students scored proficient in ELA and 41.2% in math, both well above state averages of 55.3% and 29.5%. The contrast with nearby schools is striking—Stratford High School, Bunnell High School, and West Haven High School all post math proficiency rates below 13%, while Foran's rate is three to four times higher.
